Can We Really Make It? Understanding the Requirements of Salvation

Many Latter-day Saints misunderstand the requirements of salvation to the point they have lost hope in making it to the Celestial Kingdom. Many create a checklist of expectations that far exceeds what the Father is asking of us. A correct understanding of the doctrine of Christ gives hope, that all can return to our Father through Him who is “mighty to save”.

Faithful and Happy Forever - Single or Not

It’s easy, especially among those of our faith, to feel defined by being single. It’s understandable to feel left out or left behind even in those very moments we tell ourselves that such feelings lack faith and are unproductive or unreasonable. How do we righteously desire and diligently work toward a life of faithful, happy discipleship, which includes our hope for marriage, without becoming consumed, bitter or “defined” when our plans and expectations aren’t met? I learned as a “mid-single” that God knows every detail of our lives, including our marital status. He has a precise, perfect plan for our greatest happiness, which is activated more by our “Pressing Forward with a Steadfastness in Christ” than by our getting married. Come explore practical examples and doctrinal principles that promote faithfulness and happiness now and forever….single or not.

5 Practical Steps to Enduring/Continuing to the End

I will offer doctrinal encouragement to continue pressing forward in spite of human limitation and transgression, or, as Nephi stated, “notwithstanding my weakness” (2 Ne 33:11). We will discuss cleaning the wounds of transgression without allowing the adversary to shame or temp us into thinking we are beyond the reach of the Atonement. We will discuss healthy ways to compress the distance between us and our Savior.

“Everybody Has a Plan Until They Get Punched in the Face!”

Former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson once said about his opponents, “everybody has a plan until they get punched in the face!” So true! The same can be said for us when life doesn’t go how we thought or hoped it would. For fighters in the boxing ring, and for us, what really matters is how we respond when we get knocked down. This workshop is for ‘non-perfect’ people only! The focus is on how the Lord can help us recover from life’s setbacks and keep us moving forward.

The Positive Power of Personal Accountability

The path of discipleship runs directly through the foundational virtue of personal accountability. Understanding and electively living this gospel concept, in tandem with all the others, can be one of the most enabling personal actions you can ever take. Society and business largely misunderstand and misapply the concept of personal accountability. This class will focus on understanding and applying true accountability principles in ourselves and with others.

Trust The Lord In Any and all Circumstances

Give the Lord the benefit of the doubt, even when you can’t see the value of faith or when His will conflicts with your own. We make lots of decisions; some small, others more impactful that determine our destiny. While it would be more convenient to see the end at the beginning, it would rob us of the growth and development that accompanies the journey…and the journey is as valuable as the destination.
